NDIS

Children’s Therapy Centre is a Registered NDIS Service Provider.  We provide therapy services to children and young people who are NDIS participants.  NDIS participants can use their funding for therapy services with us – at home, at school, at one of our centres or in the community.

Early Intervention Program

The Early Intervention program is delivered at no cost to families.  Children’s Therapy Centre receives funding from the Department of Disability Services to see eligible children with developmental delays and disabilities.    We complete the paperwork for you and send it to Disability Services (‘reverse referral’).  Most children using the Early Intervention program are likely to become NDIS participants when it starts in this region.

School Visits

The Department of Education funds Children’s Therapy Centre to visit ‘verified’ children at school.  This is at no cost to families.  The Principal’s permission is required.  Private and public schools are eligible.  The funding program is called ‘Non School Organisation’.

Better Start

Children with an eligible disability (yes, there is a list) can access Better Start funding of $6000 per year (up to $12,000 in total) for early intervention services and treatments.  The child must register before the age of 6 but can use funds until they turn 7.  Children’s Therapy Centre is a Registered Service Provider.  We provide Speech and Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Psychology and Physiotherapy.

  • Post-Better Start is available on referral from a General Practitioner for children aged 7 to 15 years under Medicare if the child is assessed before their 13th Post-Better Start provides Medicare rebates for up to 20 visits.

Helping Children With Autism (HCWA)

  • For diagnosis – Avoid the long waiting list, travel and parking woes at public hospital and health services.  Diagnosis can have no cost and be quicker for families by using community service providers.  Our Parent Connect program can help you access community-based Paediatricians and therapists, including some who bulk bill.  Therapists at the Children’s Therapy Centre provide therapy assessments which we send to the Paediatrician.  Parent Connect can assist with the costs of these assessments.

  • For therapy and group programs – HCWA funding is for children with an Autism diagnosis.  The child must be registered before the age of 6 but funds can be used until they turn 7.  The child can claim services to the value of $6,000 per year (up to $12,000 in total).  Children’s Therapy Centre is a Registered HCWA Service Provider for Psychology, Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Pathology.  All our programs are evidence-based and highly effective.Action:  Please phone our friendly receptionists on 54417199 to make a booking.
  • Post-HCWA – Post-HCWA funding is available on referral from a Paediatrician for children aged 7 to 15 years under Medicare if the child is assessed before their 13th birthday.  This provides Medicare rebates for up to 20 visits.Action:  Please phone our friendly receptionists on 54417199 to make a booking.

Chronic Disease Management Plan (formerly called Enhanced Primary Care Plan or ‘EPC’)

A chronic medical condition is one that has been present for six months or longer.  You can access rebates for five visits per calendar year from our Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Pathologists and Psychologists.  There is no list of eligible conditions.  Eligibility for ongoing care from a multidisciplinary team is ‘deemed’ by the General Practitioner for complex conditions.  In the area of ASD, the most common examples include anxiety, depression or stress (PTSD).

Mental Health Treatment Plan

General Practitioners can refer eligible clients for up to ten consultations per calendar year under a Medicare Mental Health Treatment Plan.

Private Payment

Most private health funds provide a rebate for our therapy services.  The value of rebates varies between health funds.

Bulk-billing is available if needed.

Our fees (including face-to-face and case management time):

Standard              30 minute consultation in home or centre   $80
Long                     45 minute consultation in home or centre   $120

Extended             60 minute consultation in home or centre   $160

Additional reports as requested    $120 per hour

Your Life Your Choice (YLYC)

YLYC is self-directed funding from the Queensland Government that enables people with a disability and their families to have greater choice and control over the disability services they receive. It is a pre-cursor to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).  A limited number of packages were issued and no further packages are expected to be issued.  Children’s Therapy Centre provides therapy services to clients with YLYC funding.

Other funding

Other funding is available for brokerage for post intervention programs, equipment prescription, vehicle modifications, therapy aids and other services.
